Background of the business alliance

According to basic data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the population of Vietnam is expected to reach 99.46 million in 2022 and to exceed 100 million in 2023. Its economic growth rate has remained at a high level of 6 to 7% in recent years, and the number of middle class and wealthy people who drive consumption is increasing. Due to this, the luxury market is expected to grow significantly in the future. In addition, Vietnam is a very pro-Japanese country, and according to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) estimates for February 2023, the number of tourists visiting Japan from Vietnam will increase more than in 2019 before COVID-19. Japan will receive some of the most tourist traffic and inbound sales in Southeast Asia. Currently, there are 2,000 Japanese companies operating in Vietnam. On the other hand, the number of Vietnamese working in Japan will reach 460,000 in 2022, surpassing China to have the most.
